Up The Creek 5K Race/Walk
This past Memorial Day, May 29, 2017, there were 58 runners, young and old, on the Up the Creek course
at the Shenvalee Golf Resort in New Market to have fun and try to win a medal.
Medals were awarded for the top three positions in 5 categories for male and female.
The runners were off at 0800 sharp and 20 minutes 2 seconds later Joe Rudman of the 31-50 age group
finished first.
The weather was excellent and the beautiful golf course setting made for a great run and start to
Memorial Day picnics and the like to follow.
The run netted around $1,500 which will go towards the
Shelter Box project and a contribution to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library project in Shenandoah
County.
