	Our May fund-raiser will be held in connection with the 150th Anniversary of the Virginia Museum of the Civil War -- New Market Battlefield. More information on ticket sales as it becomes available. We will raffle a hot-air balloon ride and a custom airplane ride over the Valley. In addition, we will sell food and water and soft drinks. It promises to be a grand celebration!

		Board Meeting October 7, 2013, the resignation of Ralph Perkins was accepted as he intends to do a lot of travelling and will not be able to attend meetings. Larry Orebaugh was made an Honorary Member. An Honorary member does not have to attend meetings Extended leave of absenses have been approved for Charles Day, Brent Eaton, Bev Holsinger. NOTE: Extended leave of absence can only be given for 12 moths from the date of the acceptance.

Sergeant at Arms.

Allen Johnson has accepted the Honorary post of Sergeant at Ams for the year 2013/2014. Instead of listing Assistants to serve for a month, Allen will ask members each week at the meeting to either take up the 50/50 tickets sales or take round the Happy Bucks basket.

He will ring the bell to open the meeting and close it.


	Grant Awarded - Joanne Burns has reported that we have received confirmation of a grant being awarded to us from District 7570 (from the Sustainer funds which many of our members subscribe to) for $2500 which will allow us to pay for our share of the Thanksgiving Dinners and in addition a Christmas dinner to the Food Pantry recipients in our area.
